A few decades ago scientists created a giant dome to study tree growth. Water and nutrients were provided in perfect amounts and under optimal conditions.
Apparently the conditions were not optimal. The trees collapsed under their own weight before reaching maturity. Why? No wind.
Researchers discovered that without the constant and variable stress provided by the WIND, the trees never developed the strength they needed to survive and grow strong!
